Data

There are several datasets in Cross-Nature endpoint, including information from already existing databases that publish species and habitats information (EIDOS and SOS Vespa databases, Data Reported under Article 17 of the Habitats Directive and Article 12 of the Birds Directive).

Also, already existing ontologies have been listed and decoded to represent semantically information related to habitats and species. For example, relevant schemas considered during this activity are: Plinian Core, Base Ontologies (i.e., Dublin Core, SKOS, etc.), EUNIS and EIONET vocabularies. These schemas and vocabularies guide the data representation and vocabulary restrictions to make Cross-Nature endpoint interoperable with other LOD resources.
