INSPIRE The “DIRECTIVE 2007/2/EC OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community “, better known as INSPIRE, celebrates this year the 10th anniversary of its entry into force. A decade of implementation efforts by the EU, EFTA/EEA and Candidate Accession Countries is resulting in a growing online availability of a wide range of spatial data.
JIIDE – Jornadas Ibéricas de Infraestruturas de Dados Espaciais is the annual Iberian conference on Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) which aims to promote reflection, debate and sharing of knowledge on the SDI in the Iberian Peninsula.
The CIG 2018 – XVI COLÓQUIO IBÉRICO DE GEOGRAFIA, took place at IGOT/UL in Lisbon, from 5 to 7 November, aiming to promote learning, knowledge consolidation or debate about ongoing research, future projects, or more theoretical reflections around Geography.
SIBECOL 2019 – 1st Iberian Ecological Society Meeting. This conference aimed to be the kickoff of SIBECOL (Sociedad Ibérica de Ecología), a new scientific society joining ecologists from Iberian countries.
The Asociación Española de Ecología Terrestre (AEET), the Asociación Ibérica de Limnologia (AIL), the Sociedad Española de Etología y Ecología Evolutiva (SEEEE) and the Sociedade Portuguesa de Ecologia (SPECO), as well as a group of Iberian Marine Ecologists, support this initiative.
The conference will concur with the XIV AEET Meeting.
REDFORESTA 2018 “Jornadas Aplicación de Nuevas Tecnologías en el Mundo Forestal“, this event consists of a series of scientific-technical meetings, where any professional from the forest sector or generally from the natural environment can share and acquire actual knowledge of interest. The elected theme was the application of new technologies in the forestry world.
The INSPIRE Conference is held annually and provides a forum for stakeholders from different areas (government, academia and industry), to hear about and discuss the latest developments related to the INSPIRE Directive.
It is an opportunity to present Europe’s INSPIRE Directive to the community and hear about the developments in National SDIs.
The conference is organised through a series of plenary sessions addressing common policy issues, and parallel sessions and workshops focusing in particular on applications and implementations of spatial data infrastructure (SDI), research issues and new and evolving technologies and applications.
The theme of this edition is “INSPIRE users: Make it work together".
With the tagline “Remembering how we started”, the conference aims to bring together the European FOSS4G community to promote face-to-face meetings, discussions, interactions and exchanges of information.
The FOSS4G-Europe 2018 Conference was held in Guimarães (Portugal), on 17-21 July 2018.
